ETA MU CHAPTER, 55 YEARS WITH DKG

About Us

The Eta Mu Chapter is part of Area XVII of the California State Organization of Delta Kappa Gamma International. The chapter located in Modesto, California has 30 plus active members who are involved in education. Members of DKG, Eta Mu are teachers from all levels of education, school librarians, speech therapists, and retirees from the field of education.
Eta Mu was chartered  on April 20, 1968. Alpha Epsilon, Modesto's founding chapter, aided in the organization of Eta Mu. Six Chi State officers and members from the other three Modesto chapters met at the Student Center at Modesto Junior College to install the first Eta Mu officers.

Who We Are

As a group of more than 82,000 strong in 17 member countries, DKG members are women educators impacting education worldwide.

Our History

Established in 1929, Delta Kappa Gamma has attained major objectives in improving opportunities for qualified women employed at every level of education, as well as in advancing the status of women educators.
The California Organization, previously known as Chi State, was established in 1936.
